WHAT’S IN A NAME?

BRU-HA: brewing to breathe life upon the earth

Bru - Brewing is a key component in this soil restoration practice. Aerated biological teas, compost and mineral extracts, plant ferments, infusions, decoctions and their varied concoctions are all used to support and nourish soil organisms and the plants that grow in alliance with them.

Ha- a Hawaiian word with many meanings- among which is ‘the breath of life’ and ‘to breathe life upon’.

In Hebrew, Brucha translates to blessed, and is a greeting and sign of welcome.

Today, Bruja in Spanish speaking cultures is the umbrella term for the feminine mystic – the qualities of the wild and wise women, capable of metamorphosis. I humbly identify as such.
