a true daughter of the earth
I am a passionate advocate for regenerative soil practices, conscious land stewardship, and sustainable food systems. I carry years of experience under my nails creating gardens, working the fields, propagating plants, saving seeds, shepherding microbes, brewing plant medicines and providing fresh nutritious food to my community.
Since childhood I lived in several continents and traveled extensively, gaining exposure to different ecological systems and ways in which humans interact with them.
After coming of age in urban environments my heart led me to life in the country. An enchanted decade in Vermont allowed me to be immersed in the full and colorful spectrum of organic farming, grassroots farmers markets and urban permaculture experiments. From the forests of New England I moved to the Big Island of Hawaii, where I got to work with both established and budding communities and cultivated my skills in Korean Natural Farming, JADAM, tropical permaculture design and plant medicines. With dedication and enthusiasm I pursued studies in various lineages with renowned leaders of their crafts, including Master Cho- creator of Korean Natural Farming, Chris Trump of Biomei Natural Farming Solutions, Mark Krawczyk of Keyline Design, Andrew Faust of the Center For Bioregional Living and Logan Silsly of the Haile Selassie School of Natural Farming and Higher Education. Attending a workshop with Vandana Shiva was a significant highlight my journey as well.
I am currently enrolled in and enthralled by Elaine Ingham’s Soil Food Web Consultant Training program and am gaining a deeper understanding of the vast microcosm under my feet.
My devotion to integrate these wise ways of caring for Earth created an invitation to live in Maui in the spring of 2020, where I now reside in a small village on the East side called Kipahulu. Within the wild jungle rainforest, I continue to spread my mycelial network to many different gardens and properties. My clients range from new food forests working to revive depleted soil, to small scale farms and estates transitioning out of conventional practices, to Maui’s biggest bamboo retailer enhancing their crops.
I relish opportunities to share and exchange ideas, and am motivated to empower growers through hands-on training, workshops and educational talks. My wish is to inoculate the earth and those around me with diversity and the spirit of cooperation.
Aloha and Mahalo
